History of changes to HMDS web-site

January 2007
  03rd January:   The University of York, in conjunction with HMDS are planning to run a new distance-learning MSc in Haematopathology starting in October 2007; 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time. This course is suitable for haematology staff working in clinical or research settings e.g. Clinical Scientists, Biomedical Scientists, Specialist Registrars etc. who wish to specialise in Haematopathology.
June 2005
  28th June:   Revision of HMDS diagnostic criteria of haematological malignancies following audit of laboratory SOP's.
  17th June:   Updated FISH page.
April 2005
  15th April:   New section - Presentations. Starting with presentations given at the Interphase FISH for B-lymphoproliferative Disorders Study Day in Leeds on 2nd March 2005.
December 2004
  07th December:   2nd revision of HMDS diagnostic criteria of haematological malignancies following annual audit of laboratory SOP's.
March 2003
  10th March:   revised HMDS diagnostic criteria for myeloproliferative and lymphoproliferative disorders following annual audit of laboratory SOP's.
July 2002
  18th July:   a review of PNH, summarizing a series of articles published in medical journals by HMDS staff, giving an up-to-date overview of PNH, but written for the patient/layman with a minimum of medical/scientific jargon.
 
March 2002
  12th March:   revised HMDS diagnostic criteria for myeloproliferative and lymphoproliferative disorders following publication in late 2001 of the World Health Organisation Classification of Tumours of the Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues.
 
July 2001
  17th July:   updated Javascript Tree Menu (to version 2.3.0), which now supports the new Netscape/Gecko v6 web-browser.
 
September 2000
  14th September:   revised the HMDS diagnostic criteria for the lymphoproliferative, myeloproliferative and non-malignant haematological disorders, in line with forthcoming WHO guide-lines for the classification of haematological malignancies.
 
July 2000
  5th July:   provided special area for PNH-related content. This area will house information of interest to patients and their relatives, and hyperlinks to clinical information and the PNH discussion forum.
  4th July:   introduced HMDS discussion/message forums in 3 categories: general discussion, case presentations [discussion area for forthcoming case presentations feature], and PNH discussion forum.
 
June 2000
  1st June:   enhanced the Xavatoria search engine by hyperlinking failed search terms to an on-line dictionary (currently Dictionary.com) to check keyword spelling.
 
April 2000
  17th April:   removed case sensitivity from HMDS site search facility, and revised Search Tips page to provide examples more relevant to HMDS site content.

  27th March:   added new links page with links to external sites of interest.
 
February 2000
  21st February:   expanded site map to provide links to morphology and flow cytometry detail. Added 'Quick search' to navigation menu.

  29th January:   provided access to AXS site-tracking stats from about the HMDS web-site page.
 
December 1999
  07th December:   replaced 'WhatUseek' search facility on site search page with Mirago's Medisearch external medical search engine.
 
November 1999
  30th November:   moved web-site to new host server (Nildram).
  08th November:   updated Javascript Tree Menu (to version 2.2.2), which now supports Netscape v3 web-browsers.
  03rd November:   introduced the Fluid Dynamics Xavatoria search engine, ranking results in order of relevance and providing summary information to site searches.
 
October 1999
  21st October:   updated links to Molecular Probes handbook in fluorochromes page.
  07th October:   added external search facility powered by whatUseek to site search page.
  06th October:   added Chronic Myeloproliferative Disorders page.
 
September 1999
  23rd September:   updated links in references page to return abstracts in Medline's new PubMed format.
  13th September:   site launched.
