To find information about a subject, simply type in one or more keywords. The search is not case sensitive ('FISH' will find 'FISH' or 'fish').
The search initially looks for documents which contain all the specified keywords. If this is too restrictive, or produces no results, try the search with 'Match' set to 'Any Term'. Alternatively a search can be conducted with match set to 'Exact Phrase'.
'Standard Form' will return the results with a brief summary of the page content, page size, and last modification date. 'Compact Form' will only list the page titles and last modification date.
Results can be displayed in order of relevance, or in reverse chronological order of document's last update.
The search engine also comes with some advanced capabilities to help you find exactly what you're looking for. These capabilities are best shown with a few examples.
The Google search engine uses a novel method of ranking results according to link-popularity, whereby web-sites are ranked according to how many other sites have links pointing to them.
