pml (29K)
Immunofluorescent staining of PML protein using an anti-PML monoclonal antibody PG-M3 in a bone marrow smear (Falini et al. Immunocytochemical diagnosis of Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (M3) with the monoclonal antibody PG-M3. Blood 1997; 90(10): 4046-4053). Normal cells show PML protein located in discrete spots within the nucleus whereas APML cells show a characteristic nuclear microparticulate pattern of PML protein caused by the t(15;17) which results in the PML-RARα fusion protein.
